I was configuring some Linux boxes today and discovered the ntsysv utility. This is a great command to see what services are loaded during startup. It pops up a simple GUI where you can enable and and disable services. Just run it at the terminal.
Update:
Configuring more boxes on different Linux distros. If ntsysv isn’t available for that distro you can use an equivalent utility called sysv-rc-conf.

Quite a beautiful website. I recently built mine and i was looking for some ideas and you gave me a few. Did you develop the website alone?
Cheers
